LORENZO is thirty, ten years ago he wrote a savage autobiographical novel about his senior year of high school in Milan, when the love for the same girl ruined the friendship with his best friend, and the failure of his father as a bussiness and family man, destroyed his idea of love and family. The book became a runaway best-seller and, as with most succesfull books, the rights were purchased by a TV broadcaster and Lorenzo moved to Rome to work on a teen-drama series, which has reached national success.

Lorenzo is now a rich and famous screenwriter but he’s unhappy. He lives in a city that he hates, and his love life is just a chain of casual encounters. He writes “auteur screenplays”, which are regularly rejected by his producers, who want him to work on the tv-movie adaptation of his best-selling novel. Besides, Lorenzo didn’t stay much in touch with his family in the last years. After his father’s bankruptcy, and the divorce of his parents, Lorenzo stayed in touch only with his mother, that now is happy and about to marry a successful businessman.

When his old best friend calls from a rehab to make amends, Lorenzo decides to accept his mother’s wedding invitation. The perfect excuse to leave Rome and return to Milan.

After almost ten years of hiding from it, Lorenzo returns to his roots to face his troubled past, which so far he has dealt only via fiction. The week before the wedding becomes Lorenzo’s last chance to mend fences with his family and friends and to try to find a better ending for his still unwritten story.
